If you have not yet set up your paid GeoNadir EDU Professional workspace, please click here follow the steps in this article.

Getting student projects started

To get started with your students once your account is upgraded follow these steps:

  • A workspace is created for the lead educator, and the lead educator can add their students into the workspace, having full control of the account and access permissions.

  • We recommend that individual student project spaces are created by the lead educator for students.

  • We recommend giving the students editor access to their project only.

  • Teachers can view student progress at any time and provide live feedback on the student project.

This video will show you the best way to set up your student projects.

What data should I use?

To get students started with using data there are a couple of options:

  • Data collected by the class is uploaded to the workspace as FAIR data and all the students have access to the processed data via the FAIR Global Map and can add the data to their project.

  • If data cannot be made available on the FAIR Global Map, and is kept private, then the lead educator can do the following:

    • Give the students 'view' access to the workspace in the Management page and members tab. Note, this will give students the ability to view other student projects.

    • Set up an initial project with all the data, then duplicate the project, then invite individual students into the project.

    • Add the data to the students project as the lead educator.

  • Learn more about uploading data here and about FAIR data here.
