Two or more layers

Grouping layers in your project table of contents helps you stay organised and work more efficiently. By bundling related layers together, you can quickly manage visibility, reduce clutter, and navigate complex projects with ease. It’s especially useful when working with multiple datasets or collaborating with others. Groups can also be nested, giving you flexible control over how your data is structured.

How to group layers

  1. Click on a layer in the table of contents.

  2. Hold Ctrl and click additional layers to select multiple items.

  3. Once selected, either:

    • Right-click and choose Group, or

    • Press Ctrl + G

How to ungroup layers

  • Right-click a group and select Ungroup, or

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + G

Additional notes

  • There is no limit to the number of groups you can create.

  • Groups can be nested within other groups for more detailed organisation.
