Who can use this feature
All users on the GeoNadir web app can change some aspects of the appearance of datasets in a project.
Raster layers
Datasets or raster layers in a project are the combined orthomosaic, digital surface model (DSM), and digital terrain model (DTM). All users are able to dynamically change the visibility and opacity of any dataset or its component.
Click the dataset icon to the left of the dataset name in the table of contents. This will open the style bar. You can also use the keyboard shortcut
'S'to open the style bar relevant to the selected layer.Select the component you are interested in (orthomosaic, DSM, DTM).
Toggle the 'eyeball' to change visibility.
Use the slider to change opacity of the component.
Greenness index
Who can use this feature
Editors of a project within a Professional or Pro + workspace.
The greenness index is a measure of how green a pixel is compared to the overall pixel brightness. It can be helpful in visually simplifying your RGB orthomosaic for the purpose of identifying green areas such as vegetation.
Click the dataset icon to the left of the dataset name in the table of contents. This will open the style bar. You can also use the keyboard shortcut
'S'to open the style bar relevant to the selected layer.Select the orthomosaic component
Click the dropdown next to 'true color' and change to 'Greenness index'
Enhance contrast
Who can use this feature
Editors of a project within a Professional or Pro + workspace.
Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish between features in our orthomosaics, DSMs, and DTMs based on the default colour ramp. This is where the contrast enhancement tool comes in handy!
Click the dataset icon to the left of the dataset name in the table of contents. This will open the style bar. You can also use the keyboard shortcut
'S'to open the style bar relevant to the selected layer.Expand the contrast menu on the style bar.
Use the slider or enter minimum and maximum display values for individual layers (orthomosaic (RGB or Greenness index), DSM, DTM).
Use the reset icon to return to the original contrast stretch.
Vector layers
Vector layers in your project include points, lines, polygons, and text.
Click the vector icon to the left of the layer name in the table of contents. This will open the style bar. You can also use the keyboard shortcut
'S'to open the style bar relevant to the selected layer.Toggle the 'eyeball' to change visibility.
Use the slider to change opacity of the component.
Change the fill, stroke width and colour, and opacity of polygons.
Change the stroke width and colour and opacity of lines.
Change the size, fill, stroke width and colour, and opacity of points.
Toggle the label on/off to display labels for each feature in the layer
You can use the color palette for any fill or stroke, or optionally enter a hex code for the color you wish to use.
Top tips
Note that the dataset itself must be 'turned on' to be able to see the effects on any of its components.
Layers are stacked for visualization on GeoNadir. This means that you will not see the effect on a layer if there is something 'on top' of it. You can click and drag items in the table of contents to change their order.
